Pumpkin Patch and pumpkin carving!

The weekend before Halloween, we decided to take our little pumkin to a pumkin patch to have some harvest fun! We went to McDonalds farm north of Phoenix. They have horse rides (which we did not do this year, but they also had a petting farm and of course a pumpkin patch that we got to ride a hayride out to. Shawn loved the horses and giggled when the horse sniffed at him. I almost think the horse was a little amused by the giggling boy :) Shawn even tried to pick the horse's huge nose :)

After the horses Shawn and I walked through a small pin to pet chickens and bunnies. Shawn mostly pointed, talked to them and poked at them, but it was adorable watching him figure them out!

He liked how the goats ate the hay right out of your hands, though he wouldn't reach out his hand far enough to reach, he got a kick out of watching us feed them.

Next was the hayride to the pumpkin patch!! Can you believe horses are really driving us, Shawn?

Shawn thinks he sees the Great Pumpkin (or many orange balls on hay bales)!!!!
And he's off!!!
One of his favorite games which wore us out was called run and knock the orange balls off the hay bales then run again while Mom and Dad pick them back up!!!
Quick Daddy lets get a pumpkin and get on the hayride back before a pumpkin gets smashed!!!!

The night before Halloween, we all enjoyed carving our Great pumpkin from the pumpkin patch! Shawn was such a big help, taking seeds and goop out, and placing the goop back in as Daddy was scooping more out.

Of course we HAVE to taste it!! Yuck!!!!!!! Not as good as pumpkin pie!!!!
Good Job Boys!!!! Now we are ready for Halloween!!!!
