Shawn's new favorite toy lately is a firetruck that Grandpa and Grandma Davey brought down to Phoenix for Shawn on their last visit.

He has figured out how the wheels work and how to make the truck roll around on the floor. He also has figured out the buttons that turn the sirens on!

Shawn took Mom by suprise and pulled himself up on his exersaucer. If he didn't have socks on and if the exersaucer was more stable, I think he might have been able to stand and possibly climb up into it!

Mom got a kick out of watching Shawn try to stand with the exersaucer anyhow and had to catch it on tape.

Playdate with Caden

Shawn met his very first friend at Tempe Town Lake park for a playdate. He loved catching up with Caden and watching all the cool stuff Caden can do such as walking and talking more. Even though Shawn is just a few months younger than Caden, I know that Shawn is anxious to walk and talk more like Caden...soon enough Shawn!

We loved seeing Angie and Caden again and meeting at the park for a walk and picnic!

Shawn has been getting into things more and
more and is been more curious. He knows exactly what to now reach for such as the TV and remote; and how to find the loose strings (yarn) on Mom's old stuffed animals. Guess we need to work on baby-proofing a little more :)

Shawn has definately been more aware of his surroundings and he knows how to work the crowd (mostly Mom and Dad). He has also been more active, he loves to cruise whether it is in his pack and play or on the furniture. You can see how much energy he has...Mom and Dad wish they had some of that energy to keep up with him!

Lunch with the stars

One afternoon after lunch, Shawn visited with Mom, telling how much he loves his star puffs. Mom had fun watching Shawn visit, eat, and turn on the charm as he was being video taped.

Here, Shawn sneezes so hard you can almost see his eyes cross...had Mom laughing so hard, even Shawn cracked up afterward!!!

Just hanging with Mom

Mom just loves spending her days with Shawn!!

This picture was actually taken in an attempt to distract Shawn from beginning to be fussy and wanting Mom to take him out of the exersaucer...Mom loves that he can be easily distracted and entertained!!! She knows that will not last much longer though!

Shawn spent most of his time crawling all over the house and wanting to be up cruising on the coffee table and couch. Luckily Mom still has to help him get up there, but she is sure that will not last long either! Shawn's Mom also just realized today how to take video clips on her camera. It was much easier to download, but we'll see how the quality is...

A day in the park

Yesterday, Shawn got to play with one of Mom's friends while Mom went to get her hair cut.
Shawn and Kelly went on a stroll through a park behind her house.

Shawn enjoyed visiting with the ducks at the pond...

and basking in the sun...what a beautiful day to play and nap in the park!!

After his nap, Shawn and Kelly returned to her home and enjoyed a snack of star puffs (still a favorite), yogurt, and juice.

When Mom returned to pick Shawn up, he told her all about his day and what fun he had. Maybe you'll be able to go back and play again Shawn!

Gearing up for Basketball season!!

Shawn let Mom and Dad know that he wants to go see some basketball games this year. Remembering how loud the games tend to get, Mom and Dad wanted to take a precaution in saving Shawn's hearing.
Here is Shawn trying on a pair of ear muffs that will muffle some of the loud noises at the games.

I think it will take a little getting used to, but I do have to say, Shawn looks absolutely adorable in them :)

He looks a little mischievous here; he might like not hearing Mom and Dad talk especially when he is in trouble!

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!

We wish you all a very Happy Halloween!!!!!
We love and miss you all; and we think of you all often!!!!

For Shawn's first Halloween, Grandma Nanneman gave him a horse costume. Mom especially thought Shawn was adorable, even though the costume was big on him and the horse head kept frustrating him by hanging over his head. It was funny watching him try to crawl as his horse tail wagged. Mom thought he was the most adorable horse!!!!

Mom did have her heart set on a pumpkin costume and found the perfect one for her very own little pumpkin!!!! Even Shawn got excited over this costume as he tried on a couple different costumes at the store. None of the others quite seemed right.

Once Shawn was all dressed up, he was ready to go trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Since his pumpkin costume was so plush, he didn't need to be strapped in; he was wedged well enough in the stroller seat. Mom and Dad took Shawn to just a couple neighbor's houses so that he can show off how adorable he was in his costume. Mom and Dad enjoyed the candy (Sorry Shawn maybe next year you can keep some candy) while Shawn enjoyed a few star puffs...I know he got the raw end of the deal but he seemed pretty happy with that arrangement and distracted while his parents visited.

After trick-or-treating Shawn helped Mom and Dad pass out candy to the kids from around the neighborhood. It was a beautiful evening, so Mom and Dad ordered a pizza and we all sat out on the porch and enjoyed the night of trick-or-treating.

Shawn was paying attention to all the cool costumes he can try talking Mom and Dad into letting him wear next year.
