1st Swim Lesson!!!

Mom and Dad decided to place Shawn in swim lessons since he shows such a big interest in water and pools. Also living in Phoenix, Shawn will be exposed to more opportunities to be around pools. We thought it would be a good idea to have Shawn learn to swim. Shawn is excited to start in the "Little Snapper" swim class with other babies/toddlers. Shawn also loves Mr Ed, his cool instructor! :)

Shawn proves to be a fearless little guy who is not afraid of the water. Even in the first class he went under water! Good Job Shawn! It will be exciting to watch how quickly you will learn in this class!

Playing around!

One of Shawn's favorite things to do is to play outside. He gets upset if anyone goes outside without him. The summer heat doesn't even phase him!! In the evening after it cools down, Shawn can sometimes talk Mom and Dad into letting him run and play with Dolce outside. I think Dolce loves the attention and games of catch with Shawn.

Momma's little helper!

Shawn has a little sweet tooth, he has been begging Mom to make chocolate chip cookies. After giving her a few big smiles, how could she resist?

Shawn helped, he did a great job with quality control...how do they taste Shawn?
I think he approves...yeah!!! Thanks for all your help Shawn!!!

1st Dentist appointment!!

Mom had talked Shawn into visiting the Dentist. Shawn wasn't too sure about it until he walked into the colorful office with fun toys to play with and books to read. Shawn had heard about the dentist and Mom and Dad have been telling how important brushing teeth was, but now he would see what all this talk was about!

Shawn and Mom did not have to wait long. Shawn was excited to sit in a big funny chair for a bit, but actually was too small to sit in the chair for the exam. Mom got to hold Shawn while the nice dentist counted Shawn's teeth. Shawn handled it well, but did bite the dentist when he was feeling the lower molars coming in.
Great Job Shawn!!! You passed!!!!! Hope you can carry all the toys, stickers, toothbrush, and toothpaste they gave you, so you can show Dad!

Father's Day part II

After Father's Day Brunch and saying our sad goodbyes to family, Shawn took a much needed nap (so did Mom and Dad after the long sleepless night). We loved the bedhead and yes, we did realize that someone is in great need of a haircut again!!!!Shawn has been running toward the pools and has been more than ready to go swimming since we got to the hotel. Dad finally took him down the lazy river on intertubes, and then they both splashed around in the fountain area before going swimming in the large swimming pool.
After a great swim, Shawn, Mom, and Dad took a relaxing stroll around the hotel grounds before munching on a light dinner and calling it a night. What a wonderful Father's Day!!

Monday morning, before heading back to Phoenix, we went for a short but beautiful hike. Shawn loved the hike as well as he kept Dad on his toes!!

We of course needed to cool down in the pool one last time before the long drive back.

It did not take long for Shawn to crash! He was out before we got out of the hotel driveway. We enjoyed a relaxing, long weekend. We all had a blast, but were tired from all the fun.

Happy Father's Day!!

We spent Father's Day relaxing at the hotel in Tucson. Dad opened up gifts before strolling around the place. He seemed pretty happy with the shirts and grilling supplies Shawn and Mom picked out for him! Happy Father's Day Dad!! As we made our way to the entrance, we met Dora the Explorer and Sponge Bob Square Pants. He didn't quite know what was going on at first, but quickly warmed up as he wanted to keep giving Sponge Bob a "high five".

Uncle Al, Aunt Maria, Grandma Nanneman, Great Grandma Lyon, and Great Grandpa Lyon met us at the hotel for a yummy Father's Day brunch. We enjoyed spending a little extra time with everyone before saying our goodbyes to the family.

We LOVED spending the last week with you "Nana", Great Grandma and Grandpa!!! We thought of you Grandpa Nanneman and we missed you this week!!

Happy Father's Day to Dad, and Grandpa's!!! We love you!!!!!!!

Weekend trip to Tucson!

Grandma Nanneman, Great Grandma Lyon, and Great Grandpa Lyon headed down to Tucson at the end of the week, so we decided to follow! We spent Saturday with the grandparents, and Uncle Al and Aunt Maria. We all enjoyed the visit and a delicious meal prepared by chef Uncle Al!!

At the end of the evening, we drove to our hotel, just minutes before we hit the front door, Shawn crashed!! Unfortunately, he woke up while we were getting him ready for bed. Of course waking him up in a strange place proved to be the beginning a LOOOONG and restless night. Mom loves Shawn snuggles and we ended up snuggling all night long...thanks Shawn :)

Some favorite moments with Grandparents

Shawn loved spending time with Grandma Nanneman "Nana", Great Grandma Lyon, and Great Grandpa Lyon. He soaked up having a constant audience and enjoyed showing off a little. He made his "fish-face" (unfortunately Mom had a tough time getting a good picture), and showed them how well he climbs. He climbed up on the couch and sat like a "big person", we thought it was too adorable. Mom and Dad better watch out though, the climbing came a little too easy!!!
He has all his Grandparents wrapped around his finger!!! Nana enjoyed his giggles and talking, while Great Grandma was able to make it all better with snuggles!!!

He even talked Great Grandma into letting him sit next to her at the table...maybe he was hoping she'd share :)
He also hooked Great Grandpa into reading to him and introducing Shawn to his new favorite game..."snap the suspenders"!

Shawn had fun this week playing with his Grandparents and getting "spoiled" some. We love you "Nana" and Great Grandma and Grandpa!!!
