Growling Sweet Potato

I know I am going a little out of sequence and I still have a little catching up to do, and forgive me for not staying up on the posts like I intended. But I wanted to share this video with you!

While feeding Meadow sweet potatoes and while being reminded the importance of using bibs, Meadow took over the spoon and decided to feed herself. She was so happy to have fed herself that she began announcing her accomplishments. She has been exploring the sounds she can make and she loves to spit and blow raspberries as well as make a growling noise. It is quite funny, but not really a noise I would expect to hear from a cute little girl. I was able to catch a little growling here.

She's still a dainty little princess to me :)

July 2 - July 4; Trip to MO

We had planned to take a drive to visit Great Grandpa Nanneman over the 4th of July, but were sad to hear that he had passed prior to us making the trek.
I am very sad to have not made it to see him one more time and to have him meet my babies.
We are happy that he is now with our Lord, and his beautiful wife in Heaven. The Lord and His angels now embrace one of my heroes!! We love you greatly Grandpa!!!

Since we had the trip already planned, we kept our promise and made the trip; it worked out that Papa, Nana, Aunt"Buddy", Uncle Greg, and Owen were also able to make the trip out to MO as well to make a tribute to Grandpa Nanneman. I know that Grandpa really wanted to meet Shawn and Meadow and that family was so important to him, I know that he is happy knowing we could all be there to celebrate life together.

Shawn shows his bedhead!! We drove to MO, it was a long drive, but we finally made it!!!

After meeting up, we head out to the cemetery to the grave site.

After stopping by the grave site, we took a drive down memory lane through Salisbury, MO. We saw the homestead, last home, Grandpa and Grandma lived in, St. Anthony's church, good ole' down town Salisbury, and the city park (Where Stephanie and I spent a few hot summer days during our visits here). It was great to share all this with our little ones! It all brings back many great memories!

After the park and drive through Salisbury, we ended up at Uncle Phil and Aunt Lou's house to visit most of the Nanneman family! What a great gathering!!!

Meadow even enjoyed her first little swim...she was quiet, but didn't complain. I think she liked it!

It wore her out and thanfully she was able to snuggle up and rest!

Shawn was having too much fun to nap! Though later on, I did get him to crash on the couch inside the air-conditioned house for about 20 minutes before playing more!!

The next morning we were off to Kansas City to visit the Union Station. Papa shared his memories boarding the trains and embarking on rides to CA. Shawn LOVES trains and soaked up every second of this!!!

Nana and Papa got Shawn and Owen matching conductor hats. Now whenever Shawn where's his hat he hollers "all aboard!!" He loves being a train conductor!

June 16-22 Nana and Great Grandma Betty Visit!!

Nana and Great Grandma Betty visit! I was able to take the day off and suprise Nana and Great Grandma with picking them up from the airport with both Shawn and Meadow! Great Grandma was thrilled to meet Meadow and I know Meadow knew immediately she had another Grandmother to spoil her :) Shawn was excited to welcome them as well as he had been hearing about their visit for a while now.

Great Grandma Betty loves to make little "Humpty Dumpty's" here's the little purple one she gave to Meadow!

One of our little coffee breaks...Shawn is definately my son and is addicted to the yummy drink (only he doesn't know that his "coffee" is just ice and chocolate milk)

Family outing at Shawn's favorite Train park, he was happy to share this special place with his Nana and Great Grandma Betty!

Riding the carousel at the Train Park!

Train Ride, we can't wait for the tunnel!!!!

We all had a blast this week spending it with Nana and Great Grandma Betty! Meadow proved to be a natural shopper and Shawn loved showing off all his toy trains and cars! We are glad you came to visit!!! We love you!!!
